The City Council on Tuesday will consider closing an existing opening in a wall at the end of a cul-de-sac adjacent to Cerritos Avenue for safety reasons. Created in 1956 to drain water runoff from Courson Drive, the opening is no longer necessary because of recent storm drain improvements. The wall opening now simply provides pedestrian access to Cerritos Avenue. Nearby residents must agree to the closure, the city said. The council meets at 7800 Katella Ave. at 6:30 p.m.
