The Anaheim Planning Commission has approved a landscape plan for portions of the setback areas near Ball Road and West Street, which are being renamed Disneyland Drive. The new landscaping will be placed next to Disney’s new theme park, hotel and parking areas. Disney’s $1.4-billion expansion of the Anaheim theme park is now under construction. A second theme park, Disney’s California Adventure, is scheduled to open in 2001. Landscape plans provide for a variety of lush plants, trees and ground cover, such as California pepper trees, and honeysuckle.
