A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with this week’s death of an El Modena High School senior who was shot several times on his way home from school, Orange police said Thursday.
Accompanied by his attorney, Tai Huu Nguyen, 17, turned himself in at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and was arrested in connection with the death of Vuthana “Mike” Sieng. Nguyen, also a senior at El Modena High, was booked and lodged at the county juvenile hall, Lt. Steve Ames said.
Three other suspects were arrested shortly after Tuesday’s shooting. Police said they are still seeking several other possible suspects.
Vuthana, 17, was walking home with some teens Tuesday when shots were fired at the group, striking Vuthana. Police said the shooting in the 300 block of Swidler Street did not appear to be gang-related. One of the teens walking with Vuthana apparently had been in a dispute with other youths that day, authorities said.
Detectives said the investigation is continuing.
