Anaheim City Council
* Neighborhood Improvement: The council will consider a $5-million plan to improve neighborhoods throughout the resort area. In March, the council approved a fund to pay for neighborhood work.
Staff members propose improved street lighting--at a cost of $2.3 million--and new trees and park upgrades.
The work would include the Jeffrey-Lynne apartment neighborhood near Disneyland, part of ongoing improvement efforts.

Laguna Beach City Council
* Recycling Contract: The council will consider a garbage-disposal agreement with Waste Management of Orange County running until June 2003 that would include a 2% rate increase for commercial customers.
The proposal also includes a plan for recycling that would enable customers to recycle green waste, such as lawn clippings and leaves.

Santa Ana City Council
* Rezoning Study: The council will discuss rezoning issues and a proposed downtown parking structure for the Regional Transportation Center. The city’s Community Redevelopment Agency also will consider a contract to improve sidewalks in the Artists Village.
The council periodically holds study sessions, which give city staff members time to present plans for proposed projects.
Public comments are allowed at the sessions.
