K2 Inc. said its third-quarter profit from continuing operations dropped 67% to $1.5 million, or 9 cents a diluted share, excluding charges. Sales, excluding the discontinued operations of Simplex building products, rose 10% to $133.9 million. The Los Angeles-based firm said sales of sporting goods, particularly skates, were strong, but bike shipments were down on weak demand for high-end bikes.
