Late Goals Give Fullerton Tie With Santa Ana

Fullerton scored two second-half goals to tie conference leader Santa Ana, 2-2, in Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer Tuesday at Fullerton.
Jose Retiz and Tomas Serna gave Santa Ana a 2-0 lead, but the Dons (14-1-3, 6-0-2) played the entire second half a man short after receiving a red card.
Fullerton’s Derek Gildner scored first, followed by Ken Takaki’s goal with 20 minutes left. Fullerton is 10-4-4, 6-2-1.
In another conference game:
Irvine Valley 5, Orange Coast 1--Yigal Kerzenbaum scored two goals and Chris Whitworth had one goal and two assists for visiting Irvine Valley (16-2-1, 7-1-1), which led, 3-1, at the half.
Josh Miller scored for Orange Coast (9-10-2, 3-6).
In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:
Cypress 6, Golden West 0--Trisha Forni and Maureen Ybarra each made two saves as Cypress (8-0, 17-0-1) earned its 14th shutout of the season and extended its Orange Empire Conference unbeaten streak to 30 games in three seasons.
Fullerton 1, Santa Ana 1--Kaylee Sybesma scored in the 49th minute for visiting Fullerton (6-9-1, 2-6-1) and Gabby Lagunas tied the score three minutes later for Santa Ana (4-11-3, 1-6-1).
Orange Coast 3, Irvine Valley 0--Taylor Yurada, Apollonia Reyes and Jennifer Porter scored second-half goals for Orange Coast (8-1, 12-4-2).
