* Jerry D. Choate, chairman of the board and CEO of Allstate Corp. and Allstate Insurance Co., has joined Amgen’s board of directors. He also serves on the boards of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the Insurance Information Institute and Catalyst, a nonprofit organization that works to advance women in business.
Thousand Oaks-based Amgen is a biotechnology company that develops medicine based on advances in cellular and molecular biology.
* James L. Donahue, former vice president of Norrell Services, has been named president and CEO of National Staff Network, one of the oldest professional employer services organizations in the nation.
Donahue, who has been in the staffing industry for 15 year, replaces former chairman and founder Marvin D. Selter. Selter, a former chairman of the Valley Industry and Commerce Assn., sold National Staff Network two years ago to Goldman Sachs and stepped down as company chairman May 31.
Sherman Oaks-based National Staff Network, a privately held company founded in 1972, provides client companies with employee benefits programs including payroll, human resources administration and workers’ compensation.
