Fallbrook Park Name Change OKd by City

The City Council gave final approval this week to a request to change Fallbrook Park’s name to William Eldridge Park, after a local war veteran.
William Eldridge, who died seven years ago at age 69, served in the Marines in World War II, Korea and in Vietnam. About 30 members of the Morrison Neighborhood Assn. petitioned the city in May to rename the neighborhood park after Eldridge, one of the original residents there. The park is at 2929 N. Fallbrook Drive.
“Everybody wants 10 minutes under the sun,” said son Tom Eldridge. “By renaming this park after my dad, his 10 minutes will never end.”
