Harvard-Westlake 15, Cypress Creek (Houston) 5--Peter Hudnut scored three goals and Bill Strickland had two in the first round of The Woodlands tournament in Houston.

In a second-round game, Hudnut scored four goals and Jason Malisky had three in a 15-8 victory over Clear Lake of Baytown, Texas.

Crespi 12, Mater Dei 3--Sophomore Hernan Golbert scored four goals and Kevin Strong three for the Celts (2-0) in a quarterfinal match at the Placentia Valencia tournament.

Simi Valley d. Camarillo, 15-5, 15-7, 14-16, 15-6--Melody Eckmier had 24 assists, six kills and eight blocks for Simi Valley in a nonleague opener at home.

Calabasas d. Crescenta Valley 15-4, 12-15, 15-4, 15-0--Brooke Niles had 22 kills and nine aces, and Sarah Postler had 40 assists for the Coyotes (2-0) at Calabasas.
