Little League and Teamwork

* I recently had an unpleasant encounter with a photographer from another newspaper who came to take pictures of the Little League team I coach. I refused to allow individual shots and explained that only a team photo would be appropriate.

I was fortunate to absorb my knowledge by watching and reading a great teacher: John Wooden. He emphasizes that teams win and lose together--equally.

In this day of outrageous salaries and self-centered mind-sets, I took a stand for a team concept. I may be wrong, but as long as anyone listens I’ll never change.
