NORTH HOLLYWOOD — A 59-year-old man who was walking in the street was killed early Tuesday by a driver who fled the scene of the accident.
Miguel Mendoza Galindo was killed at 5:55 a.m. near the intersection of Oxnard and Klump avenues, said Mary Brady, a spokeswoman for the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division.
Brady identified Galindo as a transient who lived in the area.
A search was underway for the hit-and-run driver, who authorities believe was driving a 1983 light brown Toyota Tercel hatchback, she said.
