AVON, Conn. — Dog owners howled in protest Tuesday after they lost an effort to repeal the town’s leash law in a designated area of a local park.
“I’m really disappointed and disheartened,” said Scott Lewis, a lawyer who owns two golden retrievers.
Dog proponents lost by 2,243 votes to 1,192 as 36% of the town’s registered voters cast ballots in the canine referendum Monday.
