L.A. Baptist 34, Cypress Brethren Christian 12--Garrett Ellis caught four passes from Scott Swenson, three for touchdowns for the Knights in a nonleague game at Alemany High.
Ellis scored on a four-yard pass in the first quarter and a 73-yard play in the second quarter to help the Knights (2-1) build a 28-0 halftime lead. He added a 54-yard score in the fourth quarter and finished with 139 yards.
Swenson completed 11 of 18 passes for 208 yards with one interception, and scored on a two-yard run.
Steven Long had five receptions for 71 yards for L.A. Baptist.
The Knights rolled up 396 yards in offense, 283 in the first half.
Brethren Christian (2-1) was limited to 174 yards, 47 in the first half.
L.A. Baptist finished with 180 yards rushing, led by Derek Watson with 88 yards in 15 carries. Watson also caught a pass for eight yards.
Brethren Christian was led by wide receiver Nathan Farris, who had six catches for 65 yards. He also intercepted a pass and returned it 27 yards.
