Northridge Woman Dies in Palmdale Crash

PALMDALE — A 50-year-old Northridge woman died Sunday when the sports car she was driving collided head-on with a pickup truck, a sheriff’s deputy said.
The accident took place shortly before 3 p.m. on Palmdale Boulevard near 50th Street East, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s Deputy David Miklos.
The identity of the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Investigators said the accident occurred when the woman’s Datsun 240Z swerved off Palmdale Boulevard, then veered back into westbound lanes in the path of the truck, Miklos said.
The driver of the pickup truck was treated at the scene for minor injuries, he said.
