The City Council last week unanimously approved nominations to two committees. Mike Bigi was named to the Aviation Committee as the alternate for District 4. Bigi replaces Clint Rygel, who resigned. David Salisbury was appointed to replace Bill Hamilton on the Economic Development Committee. Hamilton resigned as part of his retirement. Salisbury, owner of the Newport Landing and Yankee Tavern restaurants, will serve as the new representative for the restaurant industry; he is president of the Newport Beach Restaurant Assn.
