HOLLYWOOD HILLS — Authorities identified the victim of a home invasion robbery Friday, but offered few new details in the case.
George J. Kim, 61, the owner of a liquor store, was shot to death about 5 p.m. Thursday when three men broke into his home in the 2300 block of Mount Olympus Drive, according to police and the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Before the shooting, the intruders had tied up and assaulted Kim and his wife. The woman, whom police would not identify, suffered no serious injury. The attackers escaped in Kim’s black Mercedes-Benz, which was later abandoned several blocks away.
The case is being investigated by the Hollywood Division of the Los Angeles Police Department.
