On Call but Way Out of Reach

Thinking of playing hooky from work? A new service makes sure you won’t miss that important call. From your boss.
Freedom One is a phone service that lets subscribers keep in touch no matter where they are nationwide. Offered by Harcom Corp. in Irvine, it works without special phone attachments.
Each subscriber is given an 800 number, so when callers dial the subscriber’s number, they are immediately transferred to the subscriber’s home or cell phone.
The best part is that the service tells subscribers who is calling before transferring the call.
And if you don’t want to talk to the boss? Freedom One will take a message instead.
Subscribers may also prerecord information for callers, or program the service to deliver faxes on demand.
The service starts at $19.95 a month. Information: (800) 350-5008, Ext. 12.
