In the Cerritos Gahr tournament:
No. 8 Irvine 51, Cerritos Gahr 50--Ali Grechko grabbed Jody Carlson’s airball and put it in as time expired to put Irvine (13-0) into today’s semifinals.
In the Costa Mesa tournament:
Newport Harbor 35, Riverside Rubidoux 34 (OT)--Athena Vasquez (17 points) tied the score with 15 seconds left in regulation and the Sailors (3-10) scored the first five points of overtime in the consolation game.
In Garden Grove tournament:
Kennedy 51, Fullerton 36--Lauren Shinto scored 19 points, including three three-pointers, to lead Kennedy (9-4) in pool play.
Sunny Hills 49, La Mirada 48--Kim Mackeand made a 15-footer with one second remaining to lift Sunny Hills (6-7) in the semifinals.
In the Marina tournament:
Santa Margarita 60, Huntington Beach 40--Senior guard Colleen O’Leary scored 20 points and the Eagles (9-3) outscored the Oilers, 19-8, in the third quarter. Huntington Beach is 6-4.
El Dorado 62, Lawndale Leuzinger 57 (OT)--The Hawks built a 20-point lead in the first half, but Leuzinger tied the score, 58-58, at the end of regulation. Melissa Jacob led the Hawks (7-5) with 21 points, including three three-pointers in the first half.
Capistrano Valley 58, Pacifica 55--The Mariners (4-10) outscored the Cougars, 17-8, in the third quarter. Lindsey Peloza of Capistrano Valley (8-3) got nine of her 22 points in the fourth quarter.
In the Santiago tournament:
El Modena 62, Katella 28--Lindsey Galasso scored 24 points for El Modena (7-4), including five three-pointers. Teammate Norrell Dickson added 13 points, seven rebounds and seven steals.
In the Savanna tournament:
Torrance 48, Cypress 46 (OT)--Tricia Culley, Remy Hitomi and Kristy Schmitz scored eight points each for Cypress (6-6).
Valencia 46, Calvary Chapel 45--Monica Jackley scored 17 points for Valencia (10-1). Michelle Pietka added five three-pointers for the Tigers in the second-round game.
