Vote Delayed on Road Extension Appeal

The Thousand Oaks City Council has delayed a public debate on whether it should challenge a court ruling that dealt an apparent deathblow to its fight against an extension of Borchard Road.

Skipping a closed session that it was to have held on the Borchard Road litigation earlier in the day, the council decided Tuesday night that it will vote March 2 whether to pursue the challenge, which probably represents the city’s last chance to block the road in court.

A Superior Court judge last month ruled that the city could not stop the extension that will serve as one of only two main arteries for the 2,350-unit, $700-million Dos Vientos housing complex.
