The City Council hosted a foreign official this week. Viv May, general manager of Mosman Council in New South Wales, Australia, visited the city to observe how the government works here. Last September, Seal Beach City Manager Keith Till visited May’s city, which is just outside Sydney; he met the City Council and learned about some of the technological innovations being implemented by the government there. One of them, Till said, was a paperless mail system, in which all mail received is scanned into a computer and then routed electronically. Mayor Paul Yost presented May with a plaque from the city.
