More than 50 autographed, first-edition books will be auctioned off in January to raise funds for programs at the Mission Viejo Library. The Friends of the Mission Viejo Library are sponsoring the silent auction, in which patrons can place bids on books by authors including Truman Capote, Charles Kuralt and Oliver North. Bids begin at $5 for each book and the auction closes at 3 p.m. Jan. 30. The library is at 25209 Marguerite Parkway. Information: (949) 830-7100, Ext. 4014.
