Northridge Plaza Gets $1-Million Make-Over

The Piken Co. has announced the completion of a $1-million renovation project at Northridge Plaza. MCG Architects was contracted to provide a major face lift to the shopping center developed by the Studio City-based Piken Co. in 1980.
The 230,000-square-foot shopping center sustained $3 million in damage from the Northridge earthquake five years ago. Repairs were made but no remodeling was done, said Piken property manager Ernest Mayer. “About a year ago, we started the remodeling program and the center has a fresh new look as a result,” he said.
The new look and a tight commercial real estate market have generated interest in the few remaining vacancies at Corbin Avenue and Nordhoff Street, said president Robert Piken. “We have several lease proposals in,” he said.
