The perfect antidote to the commuter blues may be an audio book, and now there’s a place where you can rent or buy all of today’s (and yesterday’s) bestsellers.
Talking Book World has thousands of titles, from John Grisham and Danielle Steel to Jon Krakauer and the Starr report. The Blockbuster of audio books has outlets in Huntington Beach, Orange, Riverside, Torrance and Fullerton, and a newly opened store on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles. Between 5,000 and 7,000 titles are available at each store.
There are a number of ways to pay for rentals. The most inexpensive deal is to rent as many tapes as you want for one week--”the vacation package”--for $22.
The most expensive package is for 12 months. Rent as many tapes as you want for $675.
The largest audio book chain, Talking Book World offers librarians and bookstore managers a free month’s membership.
