Patient’s Patience Wearing Thin

Regarding Jane E. Allen’s article on the absurdly high cost of parking for medical appointments (“What’s the Cure for Parking Garage Blues?” Jan. 11):
I’d like to add another level of outrage. Often at the Cedars Towers parking garage, I have to wait in a long line of cars snaking up the ramp to get out of the lot, thereby incurring even higher parking fees for every minute of waiting in line. As the cars snake up the ramp, they block people trying to pull out of parking spaces, making the wait even longer!

In Allen’s parking-garage article, she neglected to mention that the cost of travel including parking is, I believe, a deductible expense on one’s income tax return.
