* Los Angeles-based Pacific Business Interiors Inc. and California Business Interiors of Santa Fe Springs said they have signed a merger agreement to form one of the largest furniture, office design and corporate relocation companies in the industry. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The two privately held companies had combined sales of more than $110 million last year. Michael Linforth, Pacific president and chief executive, will hold the same positions in the new company.

* Los Angeles-based Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., one of the largest metals service center firms, said its president, David Hannah, will assume the additional roles of chief executive, effective Jan. 31, replacing Joe Crider, who will retire as CEO but will remain company chairman.
