A new real estate project in Burbank certainly lives up to its description as a “mixed use” development.
The $20-million complex by Gangi Development Co. of Glendale combines a nightclub and trendy retail shops aimed at young adults and 146-units of housing for senior citizens. The Silver Winds Burbank housing complex sits atop 55,000 square feet of retail space called Media Village. The project is located across the street from the Media Center Mall at Magnolia Boulevard and 3rd Street.
“This was a perfect opportunity to demonstrate how mixed-use retail and housing can work together,” said developer Frank Gangi. “Our project puts these compatibility issues to a test, illustrating that with proper design a nightclub can coexist with senior housing.”
The project was designed by Mark Gangi, vice president of design for Gangi Development.
