* EMI Music Publishing, the biggest music publisher in the global entertainment business, got even bigger, adding rock classic “Louie Louie” and 40,000 other titles to its massive catalog. The New York-based publishing division of British music giant EMI Group paid $200 million to Windswept Pacific, a Santa Monica-based independent publisher for the copyrights to thousands of rock classics, including “La Bamba” and “Mony Mony,” as well as recent hits by such pop stars as John Cougar Mellencamp and the Spice Girls.
