Sonora High School student Shibani R. Parikh was recently honored for her volunteer service with a state-level Certificate of Excellence in the 1999 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. Shibani has put in more than 170 hours of volunteer work, ranging from reading to the children of the Society of the Blind in Mumbai, India, to tutoring students in reading at Sonora High School.
