The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved plans for the expansion of the Main Library Children’s Room and authorized staff to advertise for bids. The $1.6-million expansion will add 3,200 square feet to the library, at 301 W. Commonwealth Ave. The city will cover $1.3 million of the cost. The remainder, about $300,000, will come from the nonprofit Fullerton Library Foundation. The project will include a new circulation desk and more staff space and bookshelves.
