In an effort to increase services for the city’s growing senior population, City Council members are reviewing a task force report and will discuss it at the May 18 council meeting. By 2020, 32% of the city’s population will be 55 or older, creating an increased need for better transportation and adequate housing. The task force--made up of city staff, senior services professionals, educators and community members--recommended that the council create an advisory board to oversee city issues affecting seniors. Information: (714) 671-4448.
