The Planning Commission on Monday approved the design and environmental documentation for a Metrolink commuter rail station at Jamboree Plaza, on Edinger Avenue near Jamboree Road. Plans include a parking lot for 318 vehicles and a pedestrian underpass to a loading platform. Officials estimate the cost at $6.37 million, most of which will come from the state Transit System Improvement Program. Construction is set to begin in the fall; officials said the station might be open by early 2000.
