Cal State Fullerton received an at-large bid to the NCAA softball playoffs Sunday and was seeded fourth in the regional in Seattle. The Titans (34-27) will play third-seeded Tennessee in the first round Thursday. Game times have not been set.
“We were a little concerned after we dropped down to the fifth spot in our regional rankings after losing the three games to Pacific,” Titan Coach Judi Garman said. “We’re pleased to be in the tournament.”
Other teams in the regional are top-seeded Washington, Colgate, Hawaii and Texas A&M.;
Long Beach State (33-19, 17-7) received an automatic berth as the Big West Conference champion and was assigned to the regional in Baton Rouge, La. The fifth-seeded 49ers will play second-seeded Oklahoma Thursday.
