Broke the 18-year-old Southern Section Division I record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.89 at the division finals at Belmont Plaza. The previous mark was held by former Newport Harbor standout and Olympian John Moffet. The time was only .50 off the national high school record. Kim also swam the breaststroke leg of the Vaqueros’ winning 200 individual medley relay (1:34.18).

Set a Division II record with 589.60 points at the division finals in Claremont.

Totaled 45 kills in playoff victories over Bellflower St. John Bosco and Alhambra Keppel.
