The Stater Bros. supermarket chain recently donated $1,000 toward the city’s Police Explorer program. Also, the Union of the Vietnamese Students Assn. of Southern California donated $500 toward the program. The funds will be used for training and will enable the Explorers to participate in and attend competitions nationwide. The program provides youngsters ages 14 to 20 with firsthand experience in facets of police work. Last year, the Explorers donated 5,800 hours of community service.
