The City Council voted Monday to spend about $100,000 to expand the parking lot at Melinda Park from 10 to 50 spaces. The expansion will allow more people to park for the day while car-pooling or taking a bus to work, Mayor Sherri M. Butterfield said.
Also, the city will spend about $70,000 on improvements to landscaping, irrigation and security lighting around the park.
