Irvine (5-2-1, 1-1) vs. Laguna Hills (5-3, 2-1)

MISSION VIEJO HIGH
Laguna Hills, ranked 10th in Southern Section Division VI, can clinch second place in the Sea View League with a victory. The Hawks have lived by their defense (three shutouts) and the right arm of Brandon Champlin, who is averaging nearly 15 yards a completion. That’s not bad, considering the Hawks’ running game has been virtually nonexistent. Irvine, ranked sixth in Division VI, can come close to clinching a playoff spot with a victory. But even if the Vaqueros don’t receive an automatic bid, their record and strength of schedule should make them a prime candidate for an at-large berth.
