Canary Hangs Up His Spikes Again at Dana Hills

Bob Canary, baseball coach at Dana Hills High for 18 seasons, has resigned, the school announced.
In a statement released by the school, Canary said he was quitting to devote more time to his family.
Canary had resigned for similar reasons in June of 1995 after 15 years, but school officials rehired him in May of 1996. He posted a 215-227-8 record with the Dolphins.
VOLLEYBALL
Billy Clayton, a wide receiver and safety for second-ranked Newport Harbor’s football team, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Stanford, Sailor Coach Dan Glenn said.
Clayton was recruited to play football by a number of colleges, including Oregon State, Texas A&M; and BYU. A middle blocker for the Sailors, he will move to outside hitter/opposite at Stanford.
