Food Bank Needs Frozen Turkeys

Food Share of Oxnard needs 2,000 frozen turkeys to give to families in need.
The organization’s “Food on Our Doorstep” program provides Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for low-income and homeless families throughout Ventura County. Each year, Food Share--the regional food bank for Ventura County--collects and distributes about 2,000 turkeys.
“We actually need the turkeys all year long, but during the holiday season, the need is even greater,” said Caresse Ramos, agency relations coordinator for Food Share.
Donations can be brought to the Vons market at 2764 Thompson Blvd. in Ventura on Friday, from 4 to 6 p.m.
