Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights, which was closed last week when asbestos was found in the administration building and several other campus structures, will reopen today for classes, officials said Sunday.
At the same time, officials said several buildings at Grant High School in Van Nuys will reopen today after asbestos was found there as well.
Los Angeles schools spokeswoman Socorro Serrano said 60 technicians worked hard in recent days at Roosevelt, Grant and six other schools after asbestos was discovered on the campuses. Palisades Charter High School in Pacific Palisades was closed for a week after the fiber-like substance was found at the school Nov. 5.
Serrano said parents with questions about the asbestos situation can call the school district at (213) 625-6000.
