The Epilepsy Foundation will hold an educational seminar in Ventura County on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.
The seminar, which will address how to recognize seizure symptoms and how to administer first aid, will take place at the Camarillo Health Care District, 3639 E. Las Posas Road, Suite 117.
The foundation is also launching a “Be Seizure Smart” program in schools and community centers throughout Southern California. The program aims to educate teachers and other community members on how to recognize and properly respond to seizures in children, how to know when emergency medical services are required, and how to foster an understanding classroom environment.
Approximately 2.3 million Americans have seizure disorders or epilepsy, according to the Epilepsy Foundation.
