Re Brian Lowry’s “The Quiz Craze: It’s Only Just Begun” (Nov. 13):
As a well-known psychic, I’ll look into the future of network television. Ten years from now, after America has been inundated with every possible permutation of the prime-time game show, a maverick network airs a situation comedy about a 40-ish Cuban salsa bandleader, his American wife and their goofy, 50-something neighbors.
The show is an immediate and resounding hit. It is the proverbial appointment-viewing experience. It is hailed as a breakthrough by Latinos, people over 40 and salsa fans everywhere. And Lowry calls it “amazing.” He says it has “shaken the landscape” and is the most original show since “I Love Lucy.”
The more things change the more they stay the same.
