California Literacy Inc., the oldest and largest statewide literacy organization in America, will hold its annual conference in Costa Mesa’s Doubletree Hotel this year.
The conference, “On Track for Y2K,” is scheduled for Oct. 13 to 16 and is open to the public. More than 500 are expected to attend programs on English as a Second Language, learning disabilities, fund-raising, teaching techniques and other literacy-related topics.
Authors Thomas Armstrong and Jill Marie Landis as well as Guillermo Gonzalez, representative for Sen. Dianne Feinstein, are scheduled to speak. Information: (800)894-READ.
