Bike enthusiasts can register their bikes for free Saturday at the police-sponsored Bicycle Rodeo.
The rodeo will be from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Laguna Lumber Yard Parking Lot on Forest Avenue. Laguna Beach Cyclery will build a temporary obstacle course where kids can learn some safety basics such as how to signal, how to fall to lessen the risk of injury and how to pop a wheelie over an obstacle.
Kids will also be able to learn how to ride slowly between two narrow lines, how to ride through deep sand and how to ride in a complete circle.
Cycle Werks bicycle shop will sponsor two half-hour GT Air Shows, at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., featuring riders from a national team that competes at the annual X Games and the Gravity Games.
Various city merchants donated funds, food and drinks to make the event possible.
