Obituaries : Oleta Seavers Hayden; 21-Year County Resident

Ventura resident Oleta Seavers Hayden died Wednesday at the Ventura Convalescent Hospital. The 21-year resident of Ventura County was 95.
Hayden was born Feb. 19, 1904, the oldest of seven children, in Peoria, Ill.
Hayden moved from Illinois to California after being offered a scholarship at Pomona College. She declined the scholarship and began working at Mission Spring Water Co. in West Hollywood.
She was married to Albert Hayden for 54 years, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and making crafts.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Austin of Palmdale, and brother Kenneth Pesch of Canada.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Arrangements are being handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
