Thanks to three outstanding punt returns by Jared Bazar, Hart got a healthy dose of red zone offense and little else in the first quarter of its 56-18 victory over Quartz Hill last week.
After Hart’s 80-yard opening drive, three consecutive punt returns by Bazar set up the Indians inside Quartz Hill’s 20-yard line.
The first punt Bazar returned 59 yards to the two-yard line, where he was knocked out of bounds by punter Kyle Gookins.
The second was a 35-yard return to the 15. And the third was a 41-yard return to the 14.
Gookins made all three touchdown-saving tackles.
Hart covered the 31 total yards in six plays for three touchdowns.
“It kind of killed our offensive stats, but we’ll take those [returns] any time,” Coach Mike Herrington said.
