The Grammy Award-winning country music band Shenandoah will perform before the racing starts Saturday at Los Alamitos Race Course, 4961 Katella Ave. There will be a tailgate party in the parking lot with country station KIK-FM (94.3) doing a live remote at 3 p.m. A disc jockey will be giving away baseball caps, T-shirts and other prizes. The concert begins at 5 p.m., followed by horse racing at 6:45 p.m.
Jeff True, director of marketing for the racetrack, said the event is part of an effort to bring in new spectators and introduce them to horse racing. Admission is $3; parking is free. Information: (714) 995-1234.
