* Story line: UCLA gets 10 players back from two-game suspensions in time for one test run before the Bruins start defense of their Pacific 10 Conference title next week at Stanford.

* UCLA update: Three starters--defensive tackle Pete Holland, cornerback Jason Bell and guard Mike Saffer--are injured. Danny Farmer, who aggravated his left ankle last week at Ohio State and then tweaked it again in practice Wednesday, will be a game-time decision.

* Fresno State update: The Bulldogs opened with a 34-6 victory over Portland State but lost at Oregon State, 46-23, giving up 506 yards in the process. Fresno State, from the Western Athletic Conference, has lost four in a row to Pac-10 teams.

* Edge to UCLA: The Bruins get their roster back--and get fat at the expense of the Bulldogs.
