A 38-year-old man suffered a head injury Wednesday when his car was broadsided by a gravel truck, police said.
The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Madera Road, said Officer Dan Prunk.
Murray Crum of Simi Valley was turning onto Los Angeles Avenue when the passenger side of his station wagon was struck by a truck driven by Bruce Castleberry, 36, of Ventura.
Crum was unconscious when paramedics arrived, Prunk said. The officer said Crum was still unconscious when he arrived at Simi Valley Hospital.
A nursing supervisor refused to release details of Crum’s condition except to say he was admitted for treatment. Castleberry was not injured.
Prunk said the cause of the crash was under investigation and that no citations were issued.
