Thus far, the city has put aside $488,465 to renovate 40-year-old William Peak Park pool at Knott and La Palma avenues.
At the regular City Council meeting Tuesday, members will finally vote on the project they have been talking about for years, said Deputy City Manager Wes Morgan.
The 50-meter pool is still working well, Morgan said, but heavy use over the years has taken its toll on the heating, chlorinating, filtration and plumbing systems. If the council approves the renovation, the next step would be soliciting bids from construction companies.
