Tanker Spill Shuts Freeway Ramps

On- and offramps to the Ventura Freeway in Glendale were closed for more than six hours Saturday after a tanker truck overturned, spilling 850 gallons of diesel fuel onto the ramps and into city streets at Harvey Drive.
No one was injured in the 11 a.m. accident, but five units of the California Highway Patrol kept the ramps closed, along with a stretch of Harvey Drive, while the spilled fuel was cleaned up by the Glendale Fire Department and the California Department of Transportation, said CHP spokesman Frank Sansone.
All lanes of the freeway remained open during the cleanup. The cause of the accident had not been determined by late Saturday.
